Discover more from Fox Hollow Farm & Herbary
We're a small farm utilizing regenerative agriculture practices and making art in the Ozark mountains. We are also a small collective of growers and makers focused on sustainability and building community. I’m Allyson and I’ll be the one writing here. I recently created a website and have been using its built-in blogging platform, but am transitioning over to here (more on this later).
I’m looking forward to writing about the goings-on here at Fox Hollow, and hope to share my experiences in an authentic way that hopefully inspires you, not to be a farmer, but to focus on beauty, authenticity, and to always try things that challenge you. I’m currently learning all kinds of different skills related to the farm as well as my artwork. I’m finishing out my first year of raising chickens and guinea fowl, we have had one year of gardening on this land and I am continuing to learn ways to best use and regenerate our space. This year I am delving into making more things myself as well, including soap, candles, and herbal salves, tea blends, tonics, etc. I’d love to share those experiences with you as well, in hopes that maybe you’ll want to learn alongside me or file it away for later.
Take a look at our website where we will soon be selling handmade items, and you can follow us on Facebook if that’s your thing. I wanted to use Substack because I love its no-frills nature and it’s super easy to use. Plus, you can get each new blog post right in your inbox instead of needing to follow the Facebook page. I’ll still upload every post to the blog on the website as well for now.
Thank you for reading. I’m thrilled for what’s to come!
Until next time,
Allyson
